Class covers basic forklift operation as required by OSHA. Training shall consist of classroom instruction, written tests and practical hands on applications. Students will learn safe/proper operating skills as described by a trained instructor.
Hands on training includes operation includes a series of practical exercises with a Cat 930G loader at WCA’s Training Center where students will apply classroom knowledge and demonstrate safe operating practices.
We discuss the Full Body Harness (Manufacturing Process/Inspection Procedures), Anchorage and Connectors, Horizontal Lifelines, SRL's (Self- Retracting- Lifelines), Shock Absorbers, Vertical Lifelines, Ladder Safety Systems, Rope Grabs, Rescue and Escape, Lanyard's and Carribeaner's. We also discuss Rollout, Clearance Calculations, Work Positioning System's, Primary vs. Secondary Protection and Fall Prevention. We give statistics on work related incident's that result in Injuries and Fatalities throughout the Construction Industry as well as other Industries. During this Fall Protection Training, the student's learn how to wear and use the equipment such as the Full Body Harness correctly.
Is a 40 hour class designed to give students a general overview of basic safety awareness. Topics include oil and gas industry terminology, hazard communication, lockout tagout, fall protection explosives awareness, electrical safety, back safety, slips/trips/falls, First Aid/CPR, H2S, forklift, etc. The class is tailored to different needs of a company.
Class covers basic forklift operation as required by OSHA. Forklift training referenced CFR 1910.178. Training shall consist of classroom instruction, written tests and practical hands on applications. Students will learn safe/proper operating skills as described by a trained instructor.
Is an ENTRY LEVEL oilfield awareness course held weekly. Classes are 10 hours a day for five days. We have trained and placed more than 1,000 students with our partner companies throughout the Western States Region in the past 2 years. Our instructors are recruited from the industry and ensure quality education with extensive knowledge of the oil and gas industry and current safety standards. Graduates completing the course are ready to be hired with the basic safety awareness and oilfield knowledge to be functional when they hit your work site. During training they are exposed to the work conditions and accountability found at work so turnover rate is decreased and productivity is increased with hiring our graduates for all of your floorhand needs.

Is training that offers an International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) accredited Rig Pass certification card for companies or individual students. This is a one day class covering the following topics: Hazard Communication/Hazwoper, Certified Personal Protective Equipment/Clothing; Certified Lockout-Tagout; Certified Permit Required; Confined Space; Certified Fire Protection and Prevention; Certified Fall Protection; Certified First Aid/CPR and blood borne pathogens; Electrical and Fire Safety Awareness; Stairways; Ladders & Walkways; Excavations; Record Keeping; H2S and any other OSHA required courses.
Patterson-UTI and the training center are joining forces to provide basic Derrick Hand Training. This training will include a clear understanding of latching and unlatching pipe; racking back and running drill pipe and collars; along with proper tie off of tubulars. Students will also learn proper fall protection while working on the monkey board by using a DBI-Sala certified DRK man harness and SRL. This class will teach basic safety awareness, hazard communication and general derrick hand duties and responsibilities. This course will include classroom and “hands-on” training using a derrick training simulator.
The National Safety Council Defensive Driving Training Class, Taught by a National Safety Council certified trainer, will be for the 4-hour National Safety Council instructor program. This is a fast-paced driver improvement program that offers practical strategies to reduce collision-related injuries, fatalities and costs. It addresses the importance of attitude in preventing accidents and reinforces the good driving skills students already have. Most importantly, it shows students the consequences of the choices they make behind the wheel.
Welding: is a three week course with a curricululm designed to meet the requirements of local employers' welding disciplines. Job placement assistance is available for successful graduates. Welding classes are held per industry demand where students have an opportunity to learn basic welding skills and later gain familiarity with an employers set welding requirements. CDL Truck Driver Training A: Is a one hundred twenty hour course over two (six-day) weeks. Trainees come to the course after obtaining their commercial driver’s license permit (CDP). WCA has a 1.1 mile off-road track and skills pad at the training facility. Students learn the required aspects of truck driving with an emphasis on off road driving and construction site driving to prepare students for working in the construction and energy industries.
CDL Truck Driver Training B: Is a sixty hour course covered in one week. WCA has a 1.1 mile off-road track and skills pad at the training facility. Students learn the required aspects of truck driving with an emphasis on off road driving and construction site driving to prepare students for working in the construction and energy industries.
Is a 200 hour course over four (five-day) weeks. There is plenty of room on the 76 acre facility to develop entry level skills and gain practical experience on all types of equipment on varied terrain. Students receive 75 percent seat time instruction on several pieces of equipment to get them ready for work. Trainees enrolling in the heavy equipment operation classes will have quality instruction on various types of heavy equipment including, but not limited to backhoe, grader, bulldozer, belly scraper and front-end loader.

Is class is Safety Management and Rig-up Training (SMART) currently provided by Halliburton to employees. This class was the first SMART class in the United States. Halliburton developed the curriculum on the proper techniques to rig up equipment at well sites. WCA instructors teach this 60 hour course for Halliburton. Students come to Casper for this training from Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and North Dakota.
